Corey was born and raised in a commercial fishing family in Homer, Alaska. As a young boy he began fishing wild salmon and halibut in the pristine waters of Kachemak Bay. This gave him valuable experience and knowledge of the fishing community and how vitally important it is to the Alaskan economy. He had his first commercial experience at the age of 10 in the rough waters of Bristol Bay. Since then he has fished for many years with his father and has also operated his own guide business.
In 2006, Corey gave up his Alaskan residency and moved to Missoula, Montana, to become a teacher. In the summer of 2007, while he was fishing in Bristol Bay, he and his wife decided to start a business selling wild Alaska seafood. Taste of Alaska was born, and now Corey’s sole mission is to deliver high quality Wild Alaskan Seafood to Montana residents at a reasonable price. His experience and understanding of the commercial fishing business makes this business a perfect fit for Montanans who enjoy a cut of wild Alaska salmon.
Alison grew up in Missoula and spent her summers at the family cabin on Seeley Lake. From a young age she knew she was going to be a teacher. A hard worker and leader throughout her school career, she graduated at the top of her class and accepted a 3rd grade teaching position in Missoula.
Alison has visited Alaska many times and enjoyed the fishing experience. Her first time King salmon fishing, she hooked into a gorgeous 38-pound salmon and skillfully landed the fish. She has also caught numerous halibut and silver salmon while enjoying the beautiful scenery of the Alaskan coastline.
As a family-owned business, we take great pride in bringing you the finest quality wild Alaskan seafood possible.
